The Palmetto Payback Program is responsible for the collection and custody of lost, outstanding and dormant accounts reported to the Program by businesses that have lost contact with owners having a last known address in South Carolina. Common types of property reported and remitted to the Program include bank accounts, stocks, dividend or payroll checks, refunds, traveler’s checks, money orders, insurance payments, customer overpayments, and utility security deposits. The Program attempts to locate the rightful owners, or their heirs, through various outreach methods including, this searchable website. There is no cost to you for searching the site or for claiming your funds.
